The War We Cannot See
Posted on August 09 2007
Do you sometimes feel like everything bad happens to you? Whether it’s your job, marriage, or financial situation? Things just never seem to go your way. You get through one storm but another storm just sits on the horizon waiting. You begin to wonder why your luck is so bad, or why you can never catch a break.
Satan loves to make us feel like we are the only ones dealing with problems. He wants us to feel alone and abandoned. Satan hates us so much that he prowls like a lion searching for ways to disrupt our lives. He doesn’t care if you are young or old, black or white, rich or poor, male or female. His goal is to grab a hold of our soul and never let go. He enjoys watching us suffer, and craves for us to believe God doesn’t exist.
Got God? No not milk, God. Do you? I mean do you truly have God in your mind, body, and soul? Does He live in your heart? As humans, we like to believe that we can do everything on our own, don’t we? I can stop drinking. I can fix the car. I can repair my marriage. I can help my child with this problem. I and me have nothing to do with Him. God won’t interfere with your life if you don’t invite Him into it.
Angels and demons roam this earth fighting for each one of us. They want our souls. One wants our soul to destroy and keep in solitude forever. The other wants our soul for everlasting life and happiness forever. It is the war we cannot see or hear. But it is the oldest and longest war of all, a battle that will continue until the end of life.
So why go through this life alone. We have a God that wants us to join forces with Him. A God that loves us so much that He sent His one and only son to be crucified for our sins. He promises that temptation will never be greater than what we can handle. The storms will be so much easier to get through when you have the umbrella, or protection, of God over you. Every decision should be looked upon as a moment to draw closer to our Father. Ask Him to help you fix the problems of life, because one thing I can guarantee you friends is that He is the best mechanic you could ever find.
War has been around since the beginning of man. It started with the war we cannot see and it will end with this same war. The sad reality of war is death. We can be afraid of dying, but we don’t have to be afraid of death.
