The Lord Will Provide

“Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.’” – Genesis 22:13-14.

I don’t have a son, nor do I have any kids at this point in my life, but I can’t imagine the stress that Abraham was going through on his way to that place with his son Isaac. I would have about a thousand excuses for God to do anything but sacrifice my own son no matter what God was telling me to do. However, as always, the Lord provided for Abraham that day, when there seemed to be no way out.

I’m not sure the exact circumstances that you may be in this day, but I do know that God can and will provide for His children that seek after Him. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Today, maybe more than ever in your life, seek after God with all of your heart. Whatever stress, need, or desire you have, turn it over to Him and trust Him to do what is best for you. Listen to God’s voice and obey, and I know He will meet all of your needs.
